Dana only started racing when she was 17 years old, a late-starter by karting
standards. But once she was behind the wheel she demonstrated great speed right
away and has been getting faster ever since.
After two years in the very competitive Mid State Ohio Kart Club 4-cycle classes,
Dana moved into the quicker 2-cycle categories and continued to develop her racing
skills. She won the MSOKC HPV Class championships in 2003 and 2004. In December
of '04 Dana participated in the invitational Lyn St. James Foundation Driver
Development Program acquiring training in media relations, mental preparation and
physical conditioning to enhance her career in motorsports.
In 2005 Dana moved up to the new TaG 125cc class winning her first race finishing
second in the MSOKC championship. 2006 saw her move up to the Great Lakes
SKUSA TaG Senior regional championship finishing 4th. The move TaG racing also
gave Dana her first taste of endurance racing teaming with her sister and friend
Lynsey Tilton in the 2005 and 2006 TaG 200 Mile race at New Castle Motorsports
Park.
