- The idea for Behind the Wall Racing Apparel was born at a Chuck E. Cheese one Saturday
afternoon, where I saw a young boy wearing a shirt that expressed his three basic needs in life...
Video Games Soccer and Pizza. I pointed it out to our family and friends and laughed. And then I
got to thinking...what were my three basic needs? Well Diamonds, of course, you can never have
too many of those, and Pearls were nice too, but what else? Lugnuts! Of course! We have such a
passion for racing and NASCAR that with those three things I'd be one happy woman! My
husband (and partner) thought it was brilliant! And so an idea was born.
But it wasn't until the start of the 2006 racing season that the idea came full circle. My hubby
thought it would be great to make a shirt with "Diamonds Pearls Lugnuts" on it. After all...we were
going to California Speedway to see the Auto Club 500 and we had pit passes too! So he made the
shirt and the response we got from it was AMAZING! We got lugnuts when we weren't even
looking for lugnuts. Every pit crew member was kind and thought the t-shirt was great! We had
men and women asking us where we got the shirt and could they get one too! What an awesome
day! And that is when the company really took a turn and we got serious about sharing our
passion with other fans who were like us...not just one favorite driver - many!
So that takes us to, well, here and now! We created Behind the Wall Racing Apparel with the
female fan in mind, the fan who likes more than just one driver or team. The fan who knows
racing and likes to hang out in the pits, but still looks good when they get in the stands. The fan
who one day may even be "Behind the Wall" as a Crew Chief or even a top driver!! The Female fan
who just loves RACIN'
Welcome to our family, the Behind the Wall Racing Apparel Family where everyone, even the
guys, are welcome to come on in, kick off your shoes, get a cup of coffee and sit around the
kitchen table to talk about last weeks race! Don't be shy...if you want to drop us a line and talk
about racing, any kind - be it NASCAR, Pure Stock, Open Wheel, Sprint Car, Formula 1 (although
we don't really understand it, but are willing to learn) feel free!! Again we welcome you to our
store and our extended racing family.
